Summer update from the MGT Snowboard Camp crew

Robin from the MGT all-girl snowboard camp crew just dropped us a line to tell us what they’ve been up to this summer. Here’s how their summer season shaped up…

MGT has wrapped up another banger summer session season in 2008. Two summer sessions went down this past August with summer slush in Mt Hood and a cold rush in South America.

High Cascade Snowboard Camp hosted MGT in session six with coach and phenom Leanne Pelosi leading the pack. Other coaches Raewyn Reid and Desiree Melancon showed the MGT campers all kinds of new ninja rail moves and girls were amped to shred the slush in the sun.

After a week straight of cobra dogs, volcano cones and shoving new trick in the bag, campers returned to the beach to even out their goggle tans.

MGT also went South…way South, to Argentina for a winter blast of white stuff. South America Snow Sessions hosted MGT in Bariloche for winter in summer in session four.

Weather was our best friend for this 18-day session and with a huge crew of girls ready to rip, MGT attacked big mountain lines, tree runs, and backcountry booters.

The girls also got a chance to get cultured and meet new Argentine friends at the Chica’s Only girls park day event where the park was closed off for the girls. 56 girls, including MGT’s crew and shredders from all over Argentina, got coached by MGT/SASS coaches and some Argentine pros.

Topping off the session was a Caveman Jungle party where the crew got a chance to mingle, bamboo style, with the Argentines and party with the entire SASS crew and all of their friends. Campers were sad to leave, but stoked to go home with new mountain skills and awareness, new friends, and a countdown until next season.
