Perisher Resort in Australia renamed their halfpipe after Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright during the 2010 Australian Junior Series Halfpipe event last Saturday.  Perisher is the official training facility for the Olympic Institute of Australia.

Torah was on hand at the resort, where she spent much of her early career, for the ribbon cutting and to try out the pipe that now bears her name.

Perisher's General Manager of Marketing, Sales and Hospitality Gary Grant said: "Perisher is proud to have Torah as Perisher's Ambassador and it was a special moment for us all to see Torah to cut the ribbon and officially rename the pipe in her honour."

"In typical Australian fashion... the pipe will become known as ‘Bright's Pipe' which is an apt name as it also celebrates the influence Torahs' brother Ben has had on her development to become the world's best female snowboarder. Ben has been Torah's coach for quite some time and I know the high esteem and the great respect she holds for him in assisting her to be able to stand on that podium in Vancouver earlier this year," continued Mr. Grant.

The official name is "Bright's Pipe presented by PlayStation".
