The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, London, hosts British Quarterpipe Invitational Championships

The British Snowboard and Freeski Tour brings the UK’s freestyle elite to the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, London, Olympia, on Friday  October 26, for the British Quarterpipe Invitational Championships.

Ten of the UK’s top snowboarders and ten freeskiers, among them British Champions and Olympic hopefuls, will battle it out on the quarterpipe for the hotly contested British Quarterpipe Championship Title, plus a free holiday out to the Brits 2008.

The invitational contest is set to be the highlight of Friday’s action, with the UK’s freestyle elite pulling out all the stops during the qualification round, with the hopes of making it through to the grand final.

Back in action will be 2005 Best of British Freeski Champion Mike Wakefield, who took the title after being the first Brit to ever land a D-spin 900 during the competition. 2006 British Quarterpipe Champion, Andy Bennett and 2007 British Halfpipe Champion, Paddy Graham will also be in action.

With last years champion, Sam Cullum, out with injury, the TTR Two Star British Snowboard Quarterpipe Championship title is for the taking, with the likes of 2006 British Halfpipe Champion, Dom Harrington and 14-year-old Jamie Nicholls eager to step up to the challenge.

The British Quarterpipe Championships at the Metro Ski and Snowboard show will begin with an afternoon qualifying event at 4.30pm, with the top half highest scores going through to the final at 6.45pm

After taking in all the action during the day, the party atmosphere will continue over at the Shepherds Bar, for SCUK’s third birthday celebrations.
