North Resort open in Southern California

North Resort has opened its doors for the first time since its purchase in November 2004. The resort, which opened on Friday January 11,  is located less than a mile from Mountain High’s West Resort and consists of 70 aces of beginner and intermediate terrain, one lift, and a 6,000 sq ft base lodge with restaurant facilities.

Formerly Ski Sunrise, the North Resort originated in the 1940s along with other regional resorts. During its hay-day in the 1960s and 70s the area was considered a local’s favourite but saw limited success in the 1990s recently due to high management turnover and the lack of capital investment.

Mountain High now consists of three resorts: East, West, and North. The East Resort offers a true alpine experience with wide open runs, incredible views, and the longest trails in Southern California serviced by a single high speed quad. Almost all of the West Resort is dedicated to its terrain park and jumps and jibs cover more than 80% of the trails. The West Resort is also the only resort in Southern California open seven nights a week. A single lift ticket is good at all three areas and there are free shuttles running between the East and West Resorts.

The North Resort will remain open as long as conditions allow. For more information visit www.mthigh.com
