The 4th Annual Vans Cup at Tahoe comes to Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort February 29 to March 2. Among those competing for a $200,000 prize purse will be Leanne Pelosi and Hana Beaman.
For those of us who can’t make it to the event, Vans and Sportnet have come together to present live webcasts at www.vans.com. The televised event will debut on FUEL TV in two one-hour shows with times and dates to be announced.
The Vans Cup will kick off on Friday night with the defending Rail Jam champs Lucas Magoon and Erin Comstock headlining a field of top jibbers in a jam session. On Saturday, the Slopestyle competition begins and ends Sunday with the Superpipe finals. In a new twist to the pipe, the highest soaring boarders will win big bucks by claiming the Boosted High Air Awards.
The event is free with a purchase of a lift ticket, and open to the public. Those who won’t be riding or skiing can stop by the event office for a free gondola pass.
Some of the ladies who will be competing are: Joanie Anderson, Tricia Byrnes, Torah Bright, Molly Aguire, Hana Beaman, Erin Comstock, Laura Hadar, Leanne Pelosi, and many many more.
