Perisher Resort in Australia renamed their halfpipe after Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright during the 2010 Australian Junior Series Halfpipe event last Saturday.  Perisher is the official training facility for the Olympic Institute of Australia.

Torah Bright won the gold medal in the women's halfpipe competiton. After falling on her first run, Bright had to lead off the second run.

Torah Bright Named Ski & Snowboard Australia Athlete of the Year

Torah Bright has been named the the Ski & Snowboard Australian Athlete of the Year along with fellow gold medalist Lydia Lassila.

We recently told you about the Australian Post issuing a Torah Bright commemorative stamp. Now the Reserve Bank of Australia has one-upped the Australian Post by announcing they will be issuing a Torah Bright 20 cent coin.

Rumors have been abounding that Torah Bright has been working on a double cork. We even heard that Torah was trying one in X-Games practice when she fell and hit her head leading to her withdrawal from the competition.

I read in The Age that Olympic gold medal hopeful, Aussie Torah Bright was hospitalised last week with her second concussion in three days.

The New York Times has an article today about Torah Bright and her Olympic aspirations. She placed 5th in the 2006 Turin Olympics.One of the most interesting parts of the article is about Torah working on a double cork for her pipe runs. The double cork has become the must-have trick this season.
